The state of the threat intelligence landscape today

Over the last few years, organizations have become victim to an ever-growing cybercrime sector, with threat actors becoming more organized in how they run their cybercrime business operations. 

Discussing these trends, and findings from the second annual Microsoft Digital Defense Report, Amy Hogan-Burney, general manager of Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit takes a deeper dive into the current state of the threat intelligence landscape.

CyberScoop interviewed Hogan-Burney about the findings, as part of its recent CyberWeek virtual event series from October 18-22, 2021. 

Hogan-Burney shares what the findings reveal about the trends in specific threats, like phishing and ransomware attacks and particularly what security concerns government leaders should be more aware of in the coming year.

She also ties in some conclusions about the findings into how government agencies can focus their efforts on meeting the requirements of the Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity.
